About Us
Association of British Bangladeshi Chartered Accountants (ABBCA)
Connecting Professionals | Sharing Knowledge | Strengthening Communities
The Association of British Bangladeshi Chartered Accountants (ABBCA) is a professional network dedicated to bringing together British Bangladeshi chartered accountants and accounting and finance professionals across the United Kingdom.
ABBCA provides a unified platform for members working in public practice, commerce, industry and the wider business community. We are committed to promoting professional excellence, sharing knowledge and experience, encouraging collaboration and creating opportunities for professional development and mutual support.
Our members are united by a shared commitment to integrity, professionalism, continuous learning and making a positive contribution to the accounting profession and wider community.
Our Journey
Our journey began in 2022, when a group of like-minded British Bangladeshi accounting professionals gathered in the heart of East London to exchange views, share experiences and explore opportunities for greater professional collaboration. This initiative led to the establishment of The Accountants Club.
As the organisation developed, The Accountants Club changed its name to the Association of British Bangladeshi Chartered Accountants (ABBCA) to better reflect its professional identity, growing network and the aspirations of the community it represents.
Since its inception, ABBCA has grown into a thriving professional network, with more than 300 participants in its dedicated WhatsApp community. Today, the Association organises professional networking and community events, delivers verifiable Continuing Professional Development (CPD), supports structured mentorship and celebrates the achievements of British Bangladeshi accounting and finance professionals across the UK.
What We Do
At ABBCA, we believe that professional connections, shared knowledge and mutual support are essential to individual success and the advancement of the profession.
We bring members together through networking events, seminars, workshops, conferences and professional development programmes, creating opportunities to exchange technical knowledge, practical experience and industry best practice.
The Association encourages mentoring and reverse mentoring, connecting experienced professionals with newly qualified accountants, affiliates and students to support career progression, leadership development and professional growth.
We also seek to strengthen engagement with professional accountancy bodies, regulators, government institutions, businesses and other stakeholders, raising the profile and visibility of British Bangladeshi accounting and finance professionals both nationally and internationally.
Alongside our professional activities, ABBCA organises social, cultural and family-friendly events that strengthen relationships, promote inclusivity and foster a sense of belonging among members and their families.
Our Professional Community
ABBCA brings together professionals from across the accounting and finance sector, including auditors, tax advisers, insolvency practitioners, finance professionals, business advisers and newly qualified accountants.
Our diverse membership represents a broad range of professional qualifications, expertise and experience. Through collaboration and the exchange of ideas, we aim to create a platform where members can share their knowledge and expertise, build meaningful professional relationships, explore opportunities to grow together.
We encourage open discussion on matters of common professional interest, uphold high standards of ethical conduct and mutual respect, and promote the sharing of informed professional perspectives that contribute positively to the profession and wider society.
Beyond the Profession
ABBCA recognises that its role extends beyond professional networking and career development.
We are committed to strengthening relationships within the British Bangladeshi community, recognising professional achievements, supporting members and encouraging positive engagement with the wider community.
Through educational, social and community-focused initiatives, we seek to inspire aspiring accountants, support emerging talent and encourage future generations to pursue excellence in accounting, finance and business.
